Letter: More economic good news

With tax revenue collections once again exceeding the expectations of state economists, last session’s legislative decision to reform how government operates and live within its means continues to pay dividends.

I’m afraid that this economic news is more “in spite of” rather than “because of” the actions of the previous legislative session. I fail to see how shutting down the government for a month triggered any such economic turnaround. Hopefully, this session can address paying back schools and fully funding them so that our young people aren’t the losers for a change.
