Can anyone clarify Forum Comm’s coverage of the oil patch? Originally, Jacobs was retiring and then he was going to handle that beat, while a friend of Mercil’s wife was named the new Herald publisher. Well, she never seemed to show up and Jacobs seemingly continued as publisher. When did that all come into being?

In looking over a recent Herald, I notice Jacobs is still down as publisher, Mary Jo Hotzler (who was named as his replacement) is now editor, and Tom Dennis, who still writes op/eds, is nowhere to be seen.

I have wondered the same thing for several months. I asked the man once and got no response.
I do enjoy this gal’s writing and I am greatly relieved that she isn’t kin to the governor of ND.
