Or you could do like Tpaw did and raise taxes but called them fees. Would that make you happy? Or like TPaw pretended not to raise taxes but forced local taxing authorities to do it instead for him. Plan backfired though since he could not even get a VP nod.

You couldn’t refute my claim, though I’m not surprised. On a national level it’s all George Bush’s fault where on a state level we always have Tim Pawlenty to blame. When, besides never, is the left going to be honest about what they really are?

Would you prefer the Republican borrow and spend mode? Who was it that got rid of paygo? Oh wait that was the Republicans. Who drove the economy into the ditch almost leading to a depression in the likes of the 1930′s? Republicans. Who was it that said deficit spending does not matter? VP Cheney. Who was it that were spending beyond their means for the last decade? Republicans.

Who was in control of Congress and spending in the last two years of the Bush administration? Democrats of course. Who had total control of spending in Congress in the first two years of the Obama administraion? Democrats of course. Who controls spending now by only allowing continuing resolutions which authorize bloated spending at stimulus levels and refuse to allow a budget to be passed? Democrats of course.

For one thing the budget for the first year was already done by the Republicans. For another thing the damage already had been done since the collapse already had started. So then you are admitting the previous years of Republican control created the situation. Thanks for admitting that. Though this is the excuse the right always tries to use it does not hold water.

By using your analogy you also just admitted that if Obama raised the debt level half would belong to the Republicans since they controlled the House for half of his presidency. So then since the debt has gone from 5 trillion to 16 trillion since 2001 the Republicans own 8 of it. In reality they own more like 9 and about 13 of the total.

How is this any different than mayors proposing local city taxes for their own agendas?

MN doesn’t need any more taxes, they are already too high. That would mean stocking up on clothes before tax starts.

Anything over $100 would be taxed under Dayton’s proposal which is a shame since many Carhart jackets & bibs used for work would fall under this catagory. The same for many brands of work boots.
