Stutsman County residents who live in older double wide mobile homes got a surprise when they opened their 2013 tax statement this month. Changes in the formula used to calculate values used to determine taxes resulted in tax increases for many people.

The oil field should have absolutely no bearing on the value of a home in Jamestown. That’s nothing more than a lame excuse. Don’t the real estate agents tell us that all real estate is local?????
People had there chance to change this nonsense with Measure 2 but blew it. I bet a drive to eliminate property taxes gets a lot more support the next time around.
