At one time there were seven full-scale breweries in Duluth…seems we’re heading back there. Wishing these entrapreneurs best of luck. I love the enthusiasm.

Oh I whole heartily agree, any business in Duluth is good for the most part, but seems of late the only thing that is opening is brew-houses. Just hope all the patrons drink responsibly.

What is it about many small craft brewer’s name choices? A fine “Twin Ports Brewery” name was purchased and changed to the stupid “Thirsty Pagen Brewery”. Purportedly, that was driven by the lack of $$ for brew labeling, office supplies and other ancillary suppies, so they could still use the “T.P.B.” monicker abbreviation. Still a stupid name.
Then there’s “Dubrue”?? Gawd. And now, “Bent Paddle Brewing”!? Please. I know, I know — I should just chill about this and go have a beer. Your right, I think I’ll just stop into the place ‘brewery formerly called Twin Ports Brewery’ in Superior and have one of their ‘Derailed Ale’s', which I think is one of the finest beers made, nationally — I’ll just avoid reading the place’s new name on anything.

Agree, no creative names! Just add “litz” or “tz” to the first two letters of the word that describes the taste of your beer! Or go back to good strong names like: Natural, Boxer, Mickey’s, Ole English, etc!
J/K, heard the story of the Bent Paddle name and it is cool!
