Thanks to the hunters for removing at least part of the threat of me damaging my vehicle. But I will tell you the “”Big”" Buck is still roaming off the Becks Road.

I wonder if anyone is willing to donate one. We are having a tough year at our house with major medical and legal bills. A deer would help with food costs.

I would call the MDHA in Grand Rapids at 800-450-3337 or the two local chapters at carlton@mndeerhunters.com or lakesuperior@mndeerhunters.com

skidoolund – many deer are donated each year by the city bow hunters. You may be still able to get one if you contact the Arrowhead Bowhunter’s Alliance.

Thanks for the help. Now comes the tough part, bringing myself to ask for the deer…it hurts to beg for the first time in my life. But I’ll get up the courage to give them a call. It sure would help at this time. Thank you Smartimus and fox3.

I wish I could donate the 7 deer that frequent my back yard on a daily basis, even though the apples are long gone from my tree, they still come every day! Three yearlings (had spots this summer) two nice size does, one 8 point buck and a 14 point buck. My kids are afraid to slide on the hill back there because the deer scare them!

If you really want to see deer numbers lowered in the city, the next time someone proposes to the ABA or City Council that the ABA hunters should take TWO does/fawns before being allowed to shoot a buck…..then speak up! The way it is currently set up allows too many hunters to take a doe….then sit all season (3.5 months) passing on does and fawns while waiting for a buck large enough to brag about. The entire system is wrong. I also do NOT believe the harvest totals the ABA reports. When asked to prove them, they have no way to do so and also refuse to. For those of you wishing more deer would be removed, it isnt going to make much difference until new rules are put in place for the current Urban Hunt.
