It was the underclassmen that provided the punch on senior night.
The Jamestown High School team, typically led by a strong senior class, saw four different underclassmen score at least a goal in a 6-1 win over Mandan on Thursday night at Wilson Arena.

Got to attend the game last night and I was impressed how the team plays as a team. Sure its nice to have probably the best player in the state on the team but it goes way beyond her. Unsefish play throughout the team. Most folks I have seen at a girls game. Keep it going girls. You are fun to watch.

The crowd last night was loud too. This town is really getting behind this team and it’s great to see.

Since commenting hasn’t been turned on for most recent Jays hockey story, I’ll post here.
Moral victories don’t count in the standings, but the JHS girls hockey team gave one hell of an effort against West Fargo. Two players were out sick, which left the Jays with only 9 skaters, but they gave it their all for the entire 51 minutes. Even though they lost 6-1, this team has nothing to hang their heads about. Coach Brad Schaack has a top notch squad, and if you aren’t coming out to watch these girls play, you’re missing out.

Thanks, but the boys hockey article already had commenting enabled. The Jays-West Fargo game story is still missing comments.

I agree Doc. Heard from some West Fargo parents how impressed they were how those Jay girls keep working despite only 9 players. Hopefully they all get healthy with this tough stretch coming up.
