City to add more counsel in water dispute

The city of Jamestown is looking to add additional legal counsel to its dispute with the Stutsman Rural Water District.

Adding more lawyers sounds like a brilliant idea. Things always run smoother when more attorneys are involved.

So is the city hiring lawyers and fighting rural water to cost the city a lot of money to extend city water to a machinery dealer that isn’t going to use much water, certainly not enough to pay for anything, what’s the benefit? The business is being built anyway.
If successful, I suppose it will just be a little while before they say due to the growth of the city, a new water treatment plant and sewage disposal plant is necessary.
