Letter: Forget about gun control – stop abortion

Members of Congress and state legislators who made it illegal to defend oneself when they made gun-free zones, as well as those who condone this, have blood on their hands. Continue Reading

Interesting numbers. Author likes to use 20,000 in number of abortions per day and number of gun laws in US. However, it would be a better argument if the author didn’t use false data. Relevant gun laws are much lower, about 300.

Also abortion rates if 20k per day would happen, that would be 7.3 million per year. Most Pro-life sites have this at 1.2 million per year as a liberal number and the CDC has it at 780k per year in 09 as a conservative number.

Oh thank God there were ONLY 1.2 million babies killed!
What a ridiculous comeback.

I was simply pointing out the authors over inflated numbers. Didn’t 20k per day look unusual to you? If someone is going to take the time to write to a publication for possible printing, then they should do the public the simple deed of fact checking their numbers.

I’m sure if I searched enough I could find numbers that disagree with yours, too. The point remains well made regardless of the numbers. It’s still a “ ridiculous comeback”.

I’m sure you could. That’s why you must use good sources. At least i listed mine. You can call what i pointed out as a “ridiculous comeback”, but I believe that using ridiculous numbers (20k per day =7.3 million a year) to support a point makes that point just as ridiculous. Why would anyone believe the point if you dramatically falsify your supporting evidence?
Speaking of ridiculous, comparing those killed in the school shooting to abortions is pretty absurd. Using a tragedy to jump on ones soapbox about a completely different topic is more ridiculous than me pointing out false numbers.

The Center for Disease Control keeps records for abortions. That in itself is very telling of the dehumanization of a beastly act that permeates much of the population. A disease statistic, and we wonder why we are where we are today where some people think nothing of slaughtering defenseless human beings.

Let me tell you what is pretty absurd merc…..mourning the children killed in the shooting (as am I) but ignoring the 1000′s killed in the womb everyday! This is not a soapbox, it’s a fact.

There are approximately 25 abortions a week performed at the Red River Womens Clinic. That is the equivalent to about a kindergarten class a week. Where is the outrage for this carnage?

An abortion is no less violent than the senseless murder of innocents in Connecticutt. How is it that there is no concern by many for the victims of abortion? We wonder why there are people so callous as to engage in vicious murderous acts. Some find it easy by just relegating unborn children to non-person status. Clearly many murderers have dehumanized their victims in much the same way.
