Massage has many, many benefits and this will be a wonderful way to introduce those who may not have experience with it. This is an interesting concept and I genuinely wish her the best in starting up her business!
On the other hand, there are several other practitioners in town who may be a bit put off by her wording. I own a therapeutic massage and bodywork business here in River Falls and do not really appreciate her reference to “fancy – priced massages.” My practice (among others in town) is focused on assisting clients overcome chronic pain, improve flexibility, rehabilitate injuries, enhance athletic performance, etc – which takes time and a great deal of effort from the therapist. A full-body relaxation massage is completely different from what may be offered at other establishments in town, where therapists take time to tailor each session to their clients’ specific needs.
Yes, massage is definitely a necessity and not a luxury – I just hope people understand there is a difference in full-body relaxation and focused therapeutic massage sessions.

Being affordable is the key to success for any small business. I treat myself to a massage about once a year, but now there’s no reason to wait for a special occasion.
Most folks don’t need the “focused” approach, just a great relaxing massage to relieve some stress at an affordable price. Kudos Gina and best of luck!
