OK, I’l start.
99.9999% of gun owners are responsible law abiding citizens. This sick freak is the reason these children are dead, not the guns. He could have used a knife , bomb, poison, airplane, ect.
You could outlaw every gun in the world and the criminals would still get them. It is not yours or the govt’s. business to tell me if I can own a gun or what kind I choose.
Where is your “honest discussion” about the fast and furious gun running debacle that the obama admin is trying to cover up? Dozens (some accounts say 200-300) of men women and children have been killed….. so far.

“He could have used a knife , bomb, poison, airplane, ect”, flawed logic again. How easy is it for a mentally unstable person to get one of those items? How many people could a person kill with a knife before they were stopped? MASS KILLINGS are more commonly shootings due to ease of access of the weapon, little to no training, and ability to effectively kill large numbers in short periods of time.
“You could outlaw every gun in the world and the criminals would still get them.” MORE failed logic. Why have laws at all?? We have speeding laws, yet people violate them. Some people want to make abortions illegal , but by your logic, that wouldn’t stop abortions would it? To say we shouldn’t have laws because people will violate them is insane.

I own a gun. I hunt. I also believe sensible laws can be used to help this problem. There is no reason for an assault rifle in a civilian hand. “Hunting” as an excuse shows an unskilled hunter if you need more bullets and semi auto to kill a deer. Also having a large capacity round clips and drums have no purpose in a civilian hand. 30 rounds in a handgun or 100 round in a rifle has only 1 purpose, and that is the battlefield. I have no issue with collectors, but they do and must get permits (including background checks) to have deadlier weapons. If we want to be the “civilized” nations as we project to the rest of the world, then we need to act like it.

Where in my post did I say we shouldn’t have laws? Don’t try to misrepresent what I said.
So you’re a hunter..I’m assuming you use a shotgun, many many thousands of people have been murdered by shotguns over the years. Using your logic “there is no reason for a shotgun in a civilian hand”. Why are you okay with “collectors”…what if one of them becomes “mentally unstable”.
Being a “civilized” nation has nothing to do with the RIGHT to bear arms it’s how we treat our citizens. And since you brought it up, a civilized nation shouldn’t be aborting 3500 babies everyday, oh but that right is ok huh?

My family all hunt as does my spouses family; have ever since we can remember. We are not really against some “responsible” gun laws however, when Feinstein says she wants to ban “semi-automatic” weapons, does that include your 5 shot semi-automatic shotgun? I have NO trust at all in our legislators when it comes to this. ““You could outlaw every gun in the world and the criminals would still get them.” MORE failed logic”– WHERE’S the failed logic minister? Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the states, in Novenber 2012 there were 192 shootings! 480 homicides in the first eleven months of this year alone!!!! WHO has the failed logic? As stated, we aren’t against some common sense regulations but you’d have to be a fool if you don’t think they wouldn’t come after EVERY gun out there.
