While I do wish you the best with your project involving the AP, I must say that the AP in the last several years has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the liberals – the far left liberals. They practice a brand of selective reporting of the facts. It is not only the AP but most of the major media of this country that seems to have gone from being left to being extreme far left. Had it not been for Fox News, Benghazi would have not received a mention following the deaths of 4 Americans. NBC leads the league in trying to mold the minds of Americans to the left side of the platter. They enjoy a lot of AP support in doing that. MSNBC is a downright disgrace to any journalist. I have always liked your even hand Mike and I hope you can keep the AP focus on North Dakota and in the middle of the road.

Only you fox party types who are so indoctrinated by the propaganda from the likes of fox find anything else as liberal. The truth is that the entire news media (Including MSNBC) is “Coporate Media” and for the most part making all their decisions sensitive to other coporations that they either currently have business with or might have business with in the future. As a result we get only sensational type news, soft fluff about celeberaties, and a host of right or left pundits who seem like they’re saying something when it’s all just sales pitches to targeted audiences for their advertizers. It’s a damn sham regardless what your political affiliation.
Once we lost the real freedom of the press (Oh that’s right…If not so called “Fair and balanced” it must be “Liberal” I like what Lou Dobbs who is a staunch conservative said about Fair and balanced….Something like: “In news there’s no such thing as fair and balanced…There’s just the news as reported. It isn’t to be curved into some sort of balancing act or it’s no longer news.”) we started to lose part of our democracy.

Quick note: that’s the automatic filter, not moderation. Certain words are flagged by the filter automatically for moderation because they tend to be used to attack other commenters or because they’re inappropriate.
As Gene correctly points out, it sometimes has the unfortunate side effect of holding up comments with words that are perfectly okay but have the flaggable words in them (such as “oxymoron” or “windbag”).
Of course as soon as a moderator sees them in the “pending” bin they’re put up. Sometimes people might have to be a little bit patient, unfortunately.
