Local view: Racism harms our youth

Incidents fueled by racism this year have spotlighted adult behaviors that prevent a peaceful existence within the Duluth community. People watching and reading our news may think racist attitudes and actions are singular events and not part of a larger problem that promotes daily inequalities and even violence in our community. However, adults serving our area youth of color through many of the organizations listed in the box accompanying this commentary know the negative effects of racism permeate the lives of our youth.

Here we go again, Un fair campaign raises its ugly head. The racism i see is from this ill conceived campaign.

Solve poverty, and the racist fringe disappears.
Problem is, the left isn’t interested in solving either. Too much money and power wrapped up keeping minorities poor and persecuted.

According to the writer, minorities “are afraid to hang out with peers of a different race.” Afraid? Based upon what? Isolated incidents? Perceptions? Assumptions? Stereotypes?
Wow…..that sounds kinda…..racist?
Imagine if a white person said they were “afraid” to hang out with those of a “different race”.
The Unfair Idiocy Debacle marches on into obscurity.
