Yesterday they were broke. If they got rid of Howie doing their social media that would pay for the program. Have their highly compensated PR woman do it. Its for the kids.
Tom can knock off the equity line for East. They got a 6mil stadium that was not in the Red Plan, just snuck it in.

Howie was fleecing the school district imo. They paid him 19K to setup a twitter account and facebook with minimal content and minimal users.
This could have been a project for a student to do.

Way to go- the US just isn’t producing the brain power for technical need like they used to. But I don’t understand the emphasis on German- it is not prominent language in world trends- English and Spanish seem to be the most prominent- with Indian(India) and Chinese close behind.

Most all modern languages, including English, are germanic in origin.
Meaning that German is indeed a prominent language.

When my daughter was thinking about taking a language class I said you could take german to start a war, french to argue with arogant witers or spanish which is the second language . She is in florida and spanish is used there a lot if she had went west-Texas, arizona, new mexico, californis etc
How can they be thinking about adding classes in anything when there aren’t books, teachers or clasrooms availabele for the core classes.
How many hours are schools now? I remember going from 8 am till 3;30 pm and there is a lot more to lern

Your entry is indeed a strong argument for concentration on core classes -especially English.

and they should be mandatory.
What kid these days is going to look at a class list and say “Accounting, that is the elective I want to take.”?

“The cost for the additional course is expected to be about $19,000 — $14,000 of which would go toward 100 textbooks;”
Gotta love the racket that are textbooks.

I have heard that textbooks are being done away with now and the trend is to go to Nooks (or similar) and the school will get a site license for the books on the internet or something like that- so the kids can red the material needed and go directly to the Net to search for the info needed. Aren’t some of the elementary schools into this now?

“There is a high interest in physics; kids come up to me and say, ‘What’s a black hole?’ ” said Kevin Michalicek, a physics teacher at Denfeld High School.
To which that teacher should have grabbed a book and smacked them hard up alongside the temple. If a kid is in HS and doesn’t have even a basic conception of what one is then that’s a problem.

If they were able to read they could look it up on their “Nook”..

You would be surprised how many adults don’t know this either. I know I had to educate a few family members on what one is and how one forms. I even had one family member deny that they exist (Christian Fundamentalist).
