It was feast or famine for fans of snow in the Northland on Sunday, as a winter storm dropped a half-foot of powder on Duluth while areas to the north and east saw significantly less accumulation.

The City crews did a great job of getting the main thoroughfares open for traffic… I am sure they will be out all day today cleaning-up. We’re lucky to have such dedicated folks on the job.

Yes, kudos to the snow-clearing crews.
However, I didn’t realize a single 6″ snowfall would already qualify this as a real winter.

MDOT however dripped the ball. Drove to the Cities this morning. Not bad till Hinkley, then it was a disaster. Not even plowed full width. Apparently we don’t use salt anymore because it was packed ice from Hinkley south.
