Excellent article but missed a very key fact that seems nobody is aware of today and that is the Republicans have waged a war on Social Security since it’s inception. In 1978 they ran the same fear mongering campaign on Social Security they are today, at that time think they were claiming it would be insolvent by 1992 or there abouts, and that of course needed to scuttle it.
The Repubs simply want like healthcare to control all that money and get their hands on it, they want to scrap a highly lucrative program and privatize it so they can profit from it. Drives them crazy to see all the trillions in Social Security they’re not able to capitalize on and make a profit.
This current propaganda attack on Social Security is nothing more then very old whine’s in a new bottle.
