Get rid of the Duchess- or charge a reasonable fee to be there. $1000/year, should be 10,000/year. it is an eyesore and the patrons bog down the area whenever there is a cruise….

$1,000 for dockage does seem way light. Is the dock open for competitive bids? Now they want to add another boat? How big is that? It is estimated that each parking spot is worth about $50 in money spent at restaraunts, bars and shops for a few hours. At 300 spaces for a cruise ship outing that is $15,000 in lost revenue to downtown business. Does a anybody know the fiscal impact of having the boat(s) there? good or bad? Seems to me they all pile on the boat, take the critical spots and then get back in their cars and go home after the cruise. If they want to add a new boat how about a parking surcharge like a downtown business would have. The downtown REALLY needs to get extra parking going with this new development. People do stay away because of the parking which is a shame.
