The Editorial Board stated that you shouldn’t buy a weapon if you’re not going to use it! Very good, but one thing to add….and trust me, this comes from someone who knows first hand……don’t point a gun at an intruder if you don’t have the inner will to pull the trigger!
Too many people, including some law enforcement officers who found out the hard way that it can be turned against you with deadly consequences! A significant number of law enforcement officers were shot with their own weapon!
Cities that have experimented with requiring every household to be armed have virtually reduced their crime rate, i.e. breakins, burglaries, home invasions, etc, dramatically! Criminals are cowards when faced with equal or overwhelming force! Better they run and hide than you and your loved ones!
Though I imagine everyone resents having property stolen, it can be replaced. Loved ones can’t!
