“The petition alleges that oil industry campaign contributions accepted by Dalrymple’s campaign could be considered bribery.”
With a couple replacements:
“The petition alleges that free cell phones accepted by the Obama-Phone-Lady (in Cleveland) could be considered bribery.”

Big differfence in that the lady with the cell phone was not sitting as a judge in a dispute.
Do we want it to be legal to give something to a judge while you are standing in front of them? I would think people would be outraged. Yet, take some popular guys and have them do it and people rush to excuse the behavior.
The PSC commissioners did the same thing when they took contributions while deciding whether to license the coal mine near Dickinson.
Should we just open it up and have a basket sitting on the table at the hearings for “donations?”
