LITTLE FALLS, Minn. A Minnesota man was charged Monday with second-degree murder in the Thanksgiving Day shooting deaths of two teenage cousins he said had broken into his home. Continue Reading

Wow, sounds like this guy has some issues and just snapped. Definitely not justifiable.

They say a mans home is his castle, and too bad the two burglars had to be killed, but I find the comment about the female somewhat far fetched in which she smiled at the homeowner after being shot, who do does that? The fear and trama of being shot would do the opposite in my opinion, not to mention the shock. I understand a homeowners frustration of being victimzed but the police reports seem to contradict the homeowners claims. If you had already wounded the victims why not hold them at gun point until law enforcement arrives which would justify the homeowners claims? By his own admission he finished off both burglars when they were already wounded and unable to go anywhere according to his statements. Very Bizzare to say the least.

I agree, as this unfolds it gets more and more bizarre! I will hold off until more information is forthcoming regarding both sides … I am however, greatly disturbed by the so called ‘kill shot’ to the young woman … just not sure on this, both sides seem to claim that each side was great … at some point more information and truth will be coming.

These teens might have also been involved in another burglary and we all know this is probably not their first rodeo. Sorry but I believe these teens tried robbing the wrong house and this time the home owner was ready!
Hot debate. What do you think?

I don’t disagree with him shooting the teens the first time. You do have a right to protect your home. I do however have a problem with someone who stands over a person who is gasping for air, incapacitated, and puts a gun below their chin and pulls the trigger instead of calling for help. That’s not self defense. That’s straight up murder.

Incidents like this only give law-abiding and responsible gun owners a bad name.
Owners and carriers of firearms are taught over and over, that if you HAVE to use your weapon, you use it until the threat is no longer there. Once the immediate threat is neutralized, you immediately contact authorities and a lawyer.
According to how he acted and what was said…after the first shots, everything spiraled downhill and outside of the law. Again, the media does not cover the stories where responsible owners do protect themselves and firearms are used legally, in order to save lives. It happens every day. Unfortunately, we hear about the nutcases and stories like this.

I agree Brett this borders more on cold blooded murder especially if the two were all ready shot and unable to move. This can and does give gun owners a bad name regardless of the crime simply because you admitted to excuting the teens. I believe in protecting your home but you also need to use common sense especially when the two did not pose any threat to the owner, which was the bottom line. Now suppose these teens ran towards the door to escape and you shot them in the back you were not in fear of your life, because the threat was over, and that is how the law reads. As a gun owner and a homeowner your main objective is to meet the threat with force if you believe your life is in danger, so we all know by the owners statements his life was no longer in danger he just decided to excute both teens.

As I mentioned above, that ‘kill shot’ disturbs me greatly … I am aghast at that! I don’t know how anyone could do that … I mean, that was not a wounded animal you were putting down, it was a human … the police should have been immediately called.

When you break into the house of a crazy person this is the outcome.
