The DNR knows full well that the wolf population is much higher than 3000! The true numbers will come out in a couple years after annual wolf hunts are established and accepted by the general public. Think about it folks…if there are only 3000 of the most wiley critter roaming the state of MN, do you really think 253 of those animals would even be seen much less killed? The true wolf population is closer to 20,000 and the DNR knows this.

OLaf. You are correct! Wydeven from Wisconsin will not tell us what the Bobcat model estimate would be if plugged in with Wolf data! Certainly the DNR need to get away from estimating wolves based on Endangered Species conservatism principles.
