It used to be that two topics of discussion not discussed in polite society (or mentioned in conversations) were politics and religion. Not anymore. As to the family, ours is pretty much the same, some hard right conservatives, some hard left liberals and the majority (including myself) in the middle wanting for social liberalism and fiscal conservatism which leaves us outside of either major political party (as well as a lot of voters).
