2nd student denied Catholic confirmation in Barnesville In letter to parish, priest apologizes for actions of family

BARNESVILLE, Minn. The teenager who was not confirmed at the Catholic church here after he publicly supported same-sex marriage was not the only student who was denied the religious sacrament for backing gay marriage, the church’s priest said in a letter made public Friday.

It sounds like you need to keep working on your reporting skills. You are kind of missing the point of what the Catholic Church teaches. If he had not been confirmed because he spoke out against the Church’s teachings on the true presence would you be writing this article? I think not. You should probably be more open to both sides of the story and use more facts and less emotional material.

I appreciate your post. It is so sad that the parents seem to think that the Catholic Church should bow to their child’s beliefs over the teachings of the Church. Why would any parent publicize this?

The Cathloic church has really changed over the years. Went from killing anyone who diagreed with them and killing any natives that refused to join them to now exiling teenagers who speak out for gay marriages. Just think of all those priests that have molested little boys over the years, that is ok in their eyes, as long as you just don’t marry them.

Well, Jeff is my real first name, that is some post. Your history knowledge is a little suspect. It is not only off topic, it is has obsurd statments such as killing any natives that refused to join them to exiling teenagers to it is ok to molest boys. What’s clear is that you don’t like the Catholic Church. Your points are wrong and vicious.

Dave your version of history in that of the books that you had in high school. Let me guess you still believe that Columbus discovered America. Read REAL history books and you will see that yes the catholic church did kill anyone that stood against them and yes, the catholic church did kill South American natives that would NOT except the the religions of the catholic church. You can learn a lot when you read books that have the real facts, not a watered down version. Judging by your comments you must be catholic. If you would actually look at the real history of the catholic religion people would avoid it like the plague.
If these two teens are so bad because of their views then the catholic church needs to stand behind its principles and start denying or banishing all the teens that smoke, drink, and have sex. But they won’t because they wouldn’t have a congregation.

Here we go Jeff is my real first name, you said “Dave your version of history in that of the books that you had in high school.” How do you know that? Maybe it was a book I read in college, or after college. Did you graduate from college Jeff?
“Let me guess you still believe that Columbus discovered America.” Keep guessing Jeff. What does it have to do with the post? Or, if you are so inclined, please enlighten us, OT of course.
“Read REAL history books and you will see that yes the catholic church did kill anyone that stood against them and yes, the catholic church did kill South American natives that would NOT except the the religions of the catholic church.” Can you name a “real” history book that substantiates your opiniion?
“Judging by your comments you must be catholic. ” Well Jeff, you are an awlful judge. I am not a Catholic. I am not a hater either like you.
“If you would actually look at the real history of the catholic religion people would avoid it like the plague.” Pray tell Jeff, how is that so many millions around the world are not aware of the “real” history of the Catholic Religion. How did you get so much knowledge and still lack so much knowledge? Can you describe where you got the “real” knowledge other than you opinion?
“If these two teens are so bad because of their views” That is really a dumb statement Jeff. Who, other than you, said the teens are bad? No one.
“then the catholic church needs to stand behind its principles and start denying or banishing all the teens that smoke, drink, and have sex.” Now you’ve just gone off the deep end Jeff. What are you talking about? Dude, what “denying or banishing” are you talking about? For someone with all this supposed knowledge of history, one would expect you to be a little more coherent. Do you know anything about the Sacrament of Confirmation?

Here goes Dave again getting all mad because I won’t tell him my full name. Yes, I did graduate college with honors with a degree and masters in history. I guess that means I know my stuff when it comes to history and knowledge of almost anything pretaining to it, including some religions. I’m sure that’s a lot for you to handle. By the way did you graduate from college?
These two boys are being shunned because of their beliefs. Then you have a bishop saying he would confirm these two, but their confemation would still be rejected by the catholic church due to, guess what, their beliefs of gays being able to get married. That means their confirmation is NOT a true confirmation. Might want to do some research on that, judging by all your comments you seem to live on the computer.
By the way how did that voter i.d. vote go for you? Just like the rest of the state everyone knows that it was a sham and a waste of money, because there is no voter i.d. fraud.

Dave isn’t interested in anything but the superficial, sterilized, homogenized, and white-washed version of history. To recognize the atrocities committed by the Catholic church, such as the sanctioning of African slave trade or the cover-up of pedophile priests is just too “hateful”.

Why are you off topic rebel? Why are you covering for Jeff’s ignorance? Why are you responding to me when you said you wouldn’t? Only a very ignorant person would claim to know my interests when the person has never even had a conversation with me. I’ll comment on the atrocities that have been commited by the Catholic Church when it is the subject. Do have anything to reply to my comment hater?

The Catholic church has a long history of lashing out – often violently – at anyone who dared question the church as the self-proclaimed ultimate source of truth and knowledge.

I have been commenting about the article, you not so much. Are you afraid of walking past Holy Rosary? Are you afraid to be next to a Catholic at Central Market?
You seem to be stuck in the history of The Catholic Church and the problem with the molesting of boys – which was horrible. I do not think the Church denies what happened and does not condone it today. The Church has evolved in many ways. The Church does great work in the world today. It is not stuck in the past like the world of Islam.
The article, poorly written, is about a boy, and possibly other unknown boy, or boys, that were not given the holy Sacrament of Confirmation because they do not believe in the Sacraments of the Church. That is a rule of the Church. They were denied nothing. Hard concept for some to understand obviously. Someone thought it was newsworthy. Next, we be getting articles about a kid that doesn’t make the football team.

Oh and rebel, I forgot to add, were you alive when any of those things happened that you linked? Do you have a comparative article for this century? How would you compare the church of today with the church of the past?
