Column – Voter suppression damages democracy

Voter-suppression attempts backfired big-time.
The heroes of Election 2012 were the people who stood patiently in long lines to exercise their right to vote. Many were old; some were handicapped; others were tired and hungry. But they stood there many of them for as long as nine hours to cast their ballots. Continue Reading

Yes, Dennis. It does seem there is voter suppression.
Witness’s say their Romney choices came up for Obama. Others were told wrong precinct. Third party candidate Gary Johnson supporters say their votes never showed up on the tally.
Who needs ACORN when you got electronic voting machines? “It’s not who gets the votes, but who counts them.”

It’s nice to see that Mr. Dahlman hasn’t lost his gift for framing the issues of the day in his uniquely hysterical and emotional way. “The weary footed voters…” Spare me.
The campaign against the Voter ID amendment in Minnesota told so many lies, it would be impossible to count them.

Surprise, surprise. No mention of actual voter suppression, such as the return of the Black Panthers to “guard” polling places, or Republican poll watchers having to get a bloody court order to be allowed in to polling places in Philadelphia, or Democratic officials in Florida being uncooperative with and hostile to Republican poll watchers and preventing them from observing ballot counting, or the Democrats who took over a polling site, or the poll watcher who was run off by a man who threatened to shoot him, or the dozens and dozens of precincts where Obama got 100% of the vote out of thousands of votes, or the precincts where the turnout of registered voters was over 100%, or the polling places where workers wore Obama emblazoned clothing or prominent murals of Obama were present and not covered, or the polling place where a worker was directing people to vote for Democrats, and it goes on and on and on. Blatant, shameless voter suppression. Not a single word about any of it in the lame-stream media, though, because it benefited Obama and other Democrats. Imagine that. If it had benefited Romney and he had won, it would be front page news for weeks.

I guess another glaring example of real voter suppression showed up in those precincts having in excess of 100 percent of the voters casting votes for Obama. How, for example, could 900 votes be cast in one Florida precinct where there were only 9 registered voters. It’s documented, Mr Dullman!
Your folks on the Left were the ones suppressing votes. It’s just exactly like Joseph Stalin said. It matters, primarily, who is counting the votes.
Let the national recount begin!

It’s not an issue unless the Democrats feel they are the ones losing votes
