I think the big problem here is that some creepo priest was snooping around on an underage boy’s facebook page.
It’s really sad this horrible institution takes more time and energy trying to squash children’s individuality and confidence and self-expression than it does trying squash the monsters who’ve hurt children.
Hot debate. What do you think?

As the Evangelical Catholic Bishop for the Diocese of the Northwest, I will be happy to provide the Sacrament of Confirmation to this young man.

I want to thank you Bishop for using the correct term and capitalization – Sacrament of Confirmation. Hopefully, the article writers will pick up on it.

This could be an AP Style issue. If I remember next time I’m in the office I will check my AP stylebook for you.

I would be very surprised if that were the case. Then again, maybe not. Attacking Christianity seems to be in vogue. Makes sense since they don’t fight back like the Muslims.

They have some rules about religious titles, too. Any pastor is the Rev., except in certain cases, etc. etc.
I won’t be back at work for a few days, but when I am I can copy out the entry for you.
I would not describe AP style as an attack, personally.

“I would not describe AP style as an attack, personally.” I know you do not. I also know that you do not see, personally, an attack by CJ, rebel and A on the two articles on this subject. It fits your narrative.
As VP Joe Biden says, the Sacrament of Confirmation, and the Sacrament of Marriage, is a big f….ing deal to the Catholic Church. The articles could have been written to point that out and that it makes perfect sense for the boy not to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation since he lacked the desire to follow the teachings of the church. Instead the article was written as honey to the liberal, hating, intolerant Obama voters so they could spill their hatred on this board.
As Pres. Obama says, this was a teachable moment – missed. We continue to incourage ignorance and hatred to flow in the community.
