I have deep sympathy for the family this carrier infected. I can’t help but wonder how this will affect them financially. If this person knew they were ill then haven’t they committed a crime? Think of the money being spent to treat this illness and prevent it from spreading.

Don’t bother keeping your children home until the “school gets cleaner.” Tb is caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). It is a small, slow-growing bacterium that can live only in people. It is not found in other animals, insects, soil, or other nonliving things-like floors, countertops, etc. TB infects by airborne transmission–coughing, sneezing, etc.
Also in answer to Mr. Wilson–the so called carrier may not have known he/she had TB. It can be very mild in the outset but no less contagious.

This is good information. But you honestly can’t blame parents for being concerned and wanting to protect their children.

It was stated in a previous article that the as you put it “so called carrier” knew they were infected and that this person ignored it due to their alcoholism. Therefore I feel this person knowingly infected ten people. I find this to be criminal considering the hardhsip that was placed on the individuals, as they are facing a financial crisis. You don’t have to agree with me. It is just my opinion.

I agree! Assault with bodily harm. Reckless endangerment…there’s got to be AT LEAST one way to charge the person with a crime.
Arrest, incarcerate, medicate this person or persons.
