Northeast Zone nears wolf hunt quota

Minnesota’s wolf harvest is nearing the target harvest in the state’s Northeast Zone. As of late Tuesday evening, 54 wolves had been taken in the zone, and the target harvest or quota is 58.

Another reason why these zones are nearing there quota so quickly is also because there are a lot more wolves than either the DNR is saying or realizes. Get out in the woods and you’ll see for yourself.

Yeah, no kidding chevyracin8k. It`s a fact people like Kayak don`t like to hear though. I`m happy this morning, because one of the hunters I`ve allowed on my property just got another one. I have them taking turns on my place, and they are doing real well so far….that goes to tell you how overpopulated this area is with them up here where I am.
This being the first year, there will be more taken because they`ve lost their fear of man. It will get tougher as time goes on, and at that point, I`m sure they will lower the quota…or maybe even let us up here follow the same laws as the rest of this state has on shooting a wolf. But nobody I know is calling for extermanation [as the clowns want you to think will happen], just population control for healthy packs to inhabit and continue in.
