I recently had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., with my wife and daughter. A city of monuments, our nation’s capital gives one a glimpse into the people who helped make this country into the land of the free and a country where all men and women are created equal.

This is the best letter to the editor that I have read in quite some time. Kudos to Mr. Graves. I especially like the FDR (the greatest president of the 20th century) quotes. Everyone—especially those who might be tempted to sign one of those silly online secession petitions—should do a tour of the DC monuments like Mr. Graves describes. Again, great letter.
