This is an issue where some conservatives really show their ignorance, or if it isn’t ignorance it is just refusal to believe the evidence—somewhat like the way they refused to believe Nate Silver’s (and others like him) election projection. Willard was shocked (shocked!) when the results started coming in and he wasn’t going be elected president. The same conservative entertainment complex is lying to the Fox News and the right-wing radio audience about climate change. Climate change is real, but as long as some people on the right remain in their bubble, they will keep believing the people who are lying to them.

Wow, I am shocked, shocked I say, that this statement comes from a conservative think tank—
“There was no mention of the man-made global warming theory during the three presidential debates. That’s a good thing, because policies enacted to fight global warming hurt people.”
Well, since conservatives can onloy define hurt in terms of money paid out in an energy bill I guess from that very narrow point of view they have a point.
Hurt may also come from a flooded out home and higher home insurance premiums as being currently experienced as insurance companies start to realize real hurt.
Hurt may come from increased heat stroke deaths as were seen in Chicago last year and many other cities.
Hurt may come from increased cost to irrigate crops due to drought conditions and the ‘expense’ is transferred to food prices.
Hurt may come the loss of forests as evidenced by the pine forests in the Rockies for an increased risk of fire and decreased land valuation.
Yep, hurt can come in many ways due to climate change. But to m aintain the conservative view of ‘hurt’ we just have to see the value to society of keeping the Koch brothers swimming in cash, Murray energy continuing to exploit workers to keep profits in line. Yep, ‘hurt’ is where you put your values.
