Those two lost everything they worked on for 15 years. Isn’t that enough for you? Noone is defending their actions here, but man, your snarky personal attacks on every single article written about the company is pretty sad man.
Hot debate. What do you think?

You didn’t see the sarcasm dripping off that post? I mean, there was so much it reeked of it.

Of course I read the sarcasm, hence my reply. This poster attacks the two owners in the same way on every story that is printed.

Perhaps you are right, I may have been a little harsh. I guess all they did was make a conscious decision to lie, cheat and steal for 15 years. I suppose it could happen to anybody and they certainly don’t deserve to lose their business over that. Lord I apologize for that right there. Be with the starving Pygmies down there in New Guinea.

I read your response incorrectly.
Regardless, these two lined their pockets while taking advantage of their employees for years. They and they alone are the only ones responsible for their current situation.

Exactly Voice. It’s not like they broke a casserole dish at Old Country Buffet or something serious like that. Hey, if you’re not cheating you’re not trying, right?

I’m sure they’ll land on their feet. There are already rumors that Rollo might take over Bernie Madoff’s old hedge fund.

Little did we know when Mayor Doty helped launch the ‘softcenter’ it would turn out to be the home for oportunists!
This reminds me of two sayings/expressions my dad often used, “Ill-gotten gains do not profit” and secondly, “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”.

What exactly does the soft center have to do with this?
50 below never was located in the technology village, and it was founded well before the announcement of the SoftCenter idea back in 1998.

sorry, I had the wrong location, I guess I was thinking of Saturn in the technology center. I see 50 below is in the USAN building where Carlson Company had their office back in 1999.
But the other comments still hold.

It currently has 4 offices in downtown Duluth. It was formed back in about Summer 1997 in I think Mike or Dave’s basement. I think it stayed that way for a couple years until there was about a dozen employees

Much like how Apple got their start, except for the arrogance and illegal activity, of course.

Implying that Steve Jobs was free of arrogance or illegal business practices.

Not sure you can say they don’t profit. Millions of dollars came through that place with no accountability. Could have been some major profiting going on.

We may never know the true story and that’s a shame for all of the employees.

‘Ill gotten gain do not profit’ refers to the ‘long run’, IE. Bernie Madoff.
I have two friends who worked for 50 Below, one left twice and finally wised up, the other had three sons to educate so he couldn’t afford to leave between bouncing checks. Maybe his dedication will put him on top with the new owners.
