knock knock, is anybody there? If nothing else this election explained that there is still something called credibility, and the internet offers an amazing research tool to legitimately see if there are multiple sources for ‘fact’.
I know you are stinging about the election, but try and learn from it. Baseless claims did not work. Especially when you have high profile dudes like the Koch Bros running around in this country working with the likes of Karl Rove. Follow the money, really.

Wow, you’re right! Thank god there aren’t any ultra-rich liberals financing Democrat campaigns, huh?
Hot debate. What do you think?

Yes, thanks for reminding us of the threat posed by ultra-rich liberals. Their nefarious strategy of raising their own taxes, funding education programs, and reducing pollution is one of the most underreported scandals in modern history.

So much for following the money… this was out a full month before the election had you or anyone else decided to look around for “credibility”..

You’re posting a story from the Washington Examiner? A free paper (worth every penny) that considers Fox News liberal? And the article is about the suppression of a report that is already out?
Actually, it makes sense, you seem to be trying to stake out a Washington Examiner position as compared to the merely Fox News conservatives we have here.

Hi-speed rail in the US should be developed. It works well in Europe and Asia as a national system- and a cheaper alternative to air travel and not as much hassle.

We have rail in the US. It is called Am-Trak. Fix that first or start defunding that disaster of a “company.”

There is no MONEY for high speed rail, do you get that? We are in so much debt it is not funny. We need more taxpaying citizens. More good paying jobs. We do not need to spend a bunch of money on high speed rail that will not get enough ridership to pay for itself.

Will someone please tell Nolan to look into the Northstar Commuter Rail in the Twin Cities, it is not doing so well, before he starts spending all the time, money and energy on railway system for Duluth!!

I guess he assumes money from the federal level is free from the liberal fields of money trees. Let’s keep spending spending spending? How about we think about reducing spending, I am running dry.

Hey Nolan: You have bigger fish to fry, than worrying about campaign finance reform! We are looking for good paying jobs! Better get with the program, or you will be done in 2 years!

Keith……You know as well as I do….now that he is in….there will a little bit of “talk” about campaign “reform”…..about 10 feet worth….then it will “go away”! They are going to keep on trying to resolve the “revenue problem” we have…..CODE for…..RAISING TAXES….and dis-regarding the SPENDING PROBLEM that we REALLY HAVE! Among the TOP problems is TERM LIMITS…..NO career politicians……just the way our founding fathers meant it to be for our country! The commercial on tv about us winding up working for the Chinese……is getting closer…..each and every year that our debt grows! This spending problem has got to stop…….NOW!

Sadly Nolan won’t have anything to say until Jan when hes sworn in and this may be after the current Congress lets the bus go off the fiscal cliff…

We’re going off the cliff no matter what happens before January. There’s another four years of cliff dwelling coming so odds are we are going over.

“A lot of people have proposed you expedite the process by doing away with the standards,” Nolan said. “That will obviously expedite the process, but that’s not what I want to do, and that’s not what I think most people want to do.”
Nobody has proposed lowering standards let along eliminating them. What people who want jobs here are saying is what you later say, i.e. that the review process takes too long. And that’s because the repeated tack of environmental zealots is to delay delay delay every project no matter how small or benign — e.g. a cell phone tower outside of Ely.
We elected you to get jobs in this area, not more delays. If our standards are impossible for Polymet and Twin Metals to meet, tell them and they’ll go somewhere else and we can begin to look for some other source of jobs. The endless delays are the problem.

Permits- permits are the responsibility of the agency. The ability of the agency is controlled by revenue. Revenue comes from two basic sources, taxes and permit fees. If you indeed follow the money you may find that revenue from both have been constrained due to politics. The folks in the agency do work hard to enforce the regulations we want in place. To complain that they do not work fast enough means you should offer to increase operational revenue from one or both sources so more people could have -jobs. For most projects, permit fees, when examined in relation to future profits, are relatively low. Could stock dividends be cut back just a tad to allow for a more efficient permit system? Oh, that would potentially mean decreasing profits for the 1%. Bummer. Can’t do that.

How about Govt Reform???? Both sides are a mess. We need people working for the Country not a political party. Neither the Rs or the Ds can get out of their own way and be effective. This is going to take years to repair! Lord help us.

One thing the obscene amount of money spent in this election cycle proves is that, corporations, unions and rich people can’t possibly ‘need’ a tax reduction. They obviously had a LOT of loose change sitting around.
