An Enbridge Pipelines proposal would transport Bakken crude from northwest North Dakota to Superior, Wisconsin, expanding export capacity and increasing market opportunities. Continue Reading

“expanding export capacity” by way of the Great Lakes. Oh yeah…I can see it now. An Exxon Valdez-like oil spill on one of the Great Lakes.

And further evidence that all this talk of American becoming energy independent is a bunch of crap. Expanding export capacity means all this Bakken crude will go to Europe or Asia instead of staying at home, and so we’ll *still* be importing from the MIddle East. So don’t buy into this “expanding domenstic production will solve our energy problems” crap from the GOP.

Did you say, “evidence?”
Here ya go: http://www.npr.org/2012/04/11/150444802/where-does-america-get-oil-you-may-be-surprised
The U.S. imports less oil now than it did 5 years ago, thanks to increased domestic production. Also, oil from the middle East accounts for a mere 13% of domestic consumption.

The lies being told to the American public so that Big Business can bleed us dry appear to have no end; and they’re reinforced by Big Government (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Big Business.)

Add this to the canard that was the Keystone Pipeline ‘outrage’, by the rightys. Far more important to build/push through these pipelines in a haphazard, hurried manner (across vulnerable watersheds etc) and move that valuable crude OVERSEAS…so the fatsos (at the top) can get fatter.

Does the oil fetch a higher price overseas than it does here?
IF the supply is kept scarce, prices tend to rise.
Gasoline prices at the pump are not high enough for Big Oil, thus they export refined gasoline rather than drop the price. US Citizens are being gouged by Big Oil, and the Communists (among others) are getting a good deal.
