Letter: Oberloh would follow own path, not others’

Unfortunately, last year’s Citizens United decision by the U.S. Supreme Court opened the floodgates for campaign spending. The amount being expended during this election cycle borders on the obscene. Continue Reading

Wow!!! Just one democrat supporting anther democrat, that goes a long way. Oberloh is not an independent. He will say and do what ever is needed. Oberloh is acting like he deserves this job. As mayor of Worthington all he has done is spend, spend, spend.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Mike – People are always screaming about “government spending”. In fact, governments are supposed to ‘spend, spend, spend.’ If they didn’t, you wouldn’t have ‘roads, roads, roads’ or ‘schools, schools, schools’.
It’s HOW the tax revenues are spent that matters. There’s not a government on earth that was set up to ‘save, save, save’. The citizens expect public serves and holler very loudly when they don’t get them. (See the East Coast, if you need further proof.)

I do agree. But it is the wasteful spending Oberloh has endorsed in worthington. Senior center at the old YMCA location for one example.

Perhaps, to paraphrase Dick Nixon, you “won’t have Oberloh to kick around any more” once he wins the Senate seat.
What about his colleagues on the City Council? Are you going to rubber stamp them and vote them back? Surely they had a hand in spending decisions.

Mr. Fiola, you can’t be naive enough to think the libs don’t do the same thing. ALL politics have morphed into a semi-truth telling smoke screen. If you don’t have a thick skin or lot$ of money, politics isn’t for you. Sad but true. Get out and make your vote count.

Yep, everybody does it. A media report out yesterday showed that, in the presidential race alone, 99% of the Republican ads were negative. For the Democrats, 75%. So, there’s a lot of negativity from both sides.
But the Republicans win! That’s something to be proud of.
