Over the last year in particular, I have been shocked to discover the price to fly out of Duluth. As for myself, and many others I know, we take the shuttle to the MSP airport and fly from there. The new terminal makes no difference: if it ends up costing $450 round trip to fly to Chicago, Buffalo, Denver, etc; especially when through Southwest you can fly those same routes for $115 one way – many travellers (especially young ones or lower income ones) won’t bother with the Duluth Airport. Bring in more budget airlines that cater to everyone besides snowbirds going to Phoenix or Las Vegas.
