GRAND FORKS Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., in Grand Forks on Tuesday came to the defense of the Democratic candidate running for his seat on charges that she is anti-military. Continue Reading

Heidi calles the accusations …..”mistruths”…. Is that the same thing as someone saying they “misspoke”?
This is the problems with politicians nowadays. Decades ago “politicians” got your neighbor or your councilman or whomever…elected. They worked the rope lines with their protege glad handing all the common folks and did all the hand ringing behind closed doors when their “guy” ( just a ufanism gals! No offense!) misspoke or said a mistruth and after all that work their guy just wasn’t smooth or polished enough and they lost the election. Fast forward a few years and we find those same politicians not bothering with your local guy but just going ahead and getting themselves elected and just cut out any semblance of doing the right thing.
Now really fast forward to today’s crop of politicians. Why does anyone want to go through all the crap you have to, to be a politician? Not a senator or congressperson, but a lying cheating do what ever it takes…politician? I certainly don’t have the answer and doubt even the people running really do. Why they can’t even call a ….what’s the word the PC police will let me use here???????…well since I’m strictly a non PC Kinda guy I will just say it….
Why can’t they call a liar ….a liar???? Was that so hard? You called them every other PC synonym in the language but you think calling them what you really want to call them is a liar but someone might take offense at your bluntness?
That’s why we should go back to promoting our neighbors and people we really know instead of “politicians”. We can tell our friends and neighbors to their faces that they are “liars” , because they know it too!

“weak on defense” might be a virtue … in that it could translate into non-support of the military-industrial complex.
A virtue, as affirmed by the book written by Brigadier General Smedley Butler:
“War is a Racket”
… whom, at the time of his death, was the most highly decorated soldier in American history.

Shed was a pretty colorful character in his time but his “march” on the capital attended by his minions was met with an even more colorful character who booted his and their arses right out.
Shed was outfoxed and out led by an even more decorated to be chap by the name of MacArthur!
Oh, how history tends to repeat itself!
