Clinton stumps for Heitkamp to crowd’s delight
October 29, 2012 at 4:46 pm in Grand Forks Herald
Former president Bill Clinton was in town Monday night to bolster Heidi Heitkamp’s U.S. Senate bid. A capacity crowd at the Civic Center showed up to greet him with full-throated enthusiasm. Continue Reading

OH SWOON! (GAG) I am SO tired of people talking about Clinton like he walked on water or something. BC = Before Clinton? That’s just wrong on so many levels. Politically, he didn’t rock the boat too much or inflict much damage (thanks mostly to a Republican congress his last 6 years). He totally got lucky with the tech industry boom. Morally, he was and still is a used car salesman that lied through his teeth to Americans on several occasions. For that, I’ll never trust “Slick Willy” or anything he says. Doubt he’s even heard of, or much less cared for, Heidi Heitkamp prior to today.

Makes it easier to focus on the matters at hand as opposed to the young interns rear end.
Good observation Jeff.
Maybe thats what the problem with the Democrats is.

Apparently NDSU’s president wouldn’t let them have their bigger facility because somehow he didn’t think it would be right to have a former president stump in a public school……Yet Bush did without a problem…..Theses right wingers are a bit like the good old mafia
Because of the restriction in capacity for the facility many had to be turned away. Regardless of the NDSU’s pres playing games it was done on a short notice so it was pretty hard to line up a bigger venue

The state law is quite specific on this matter, The Law applies to partisan political campaign or politicians campaigning for a position but does allow for sitting political officials to use state facilities for public discussion, comment, interaction”
Clinton was campaining for Heidi. Bush was a sitting President who used the facility to speak to people, not for campaigning.
Had the President of NDSU allowed Clinton the use of school facilities he would have been in violation of the law.
Its refreshing to see one of the Universities finally be concerned about the law.

Well I’ll accept you’re not weaving a whopper since I’m not interested enough to actually look it up….and besides…you wouldn’t BS an old sparring buddy right?
None the less…on the issue of the low turn out present….The bottom line was that many had to be turned away because they couldn’t allow more in. So a bigger facility would have seen a bigger crowd. I was just making a point to the smarmy observation about the low turn out…

Anyone with hopes of being elected/re-elected are trying very hard to distance themselves from Obama.
Havent seen a single person running for office yelling about how anxious they are to continue supporting Obamas Hope and Change.
Thats very telling.

Who is the old lady in the picture with Clinton?
I’ve seen pictures of Heidi in the Herald every day and that s not her, must be her mother.
The pictures i have been seeing everyday portray a woman in her early 40′s with bright red hair.
Surely the Herald wouldnt be trying to mislead us with a 20+ year old photo would they?

“If he could run again, I would vote for him,” said Kelsey Engel, a Concordia College student from Detroit Lakes. “He really energizes me”
Are you sure he didn’t have a battery-operated cigar? Wasn’t this guy impeached? Didn’t he lie under oath? Quite a role model?

Look no further than the fiasco that is Fast and Furious. No one had to ever face a single charge in that illegal gun running operation that killed people.

Had Clinton been convicted, Al Gore would have become President. Clinton was guilty but was aquitted because the Republican controlled Congress knew it would be easier to defeat Al Gore as a sitting Vice President than a sitting President.

5 years…but get this…Both Barack and Michelle “voluntarily surrendered” their licenses, she back in 1993 and he in 2008. You don’t do that unless you are one breath away from having your license revoked. It has been said that he gave his up to avoid possible charges that he fibbed on his bar application. She may have gone through the channels to get her license back since she did serve as legal counsel for the University of Chicago Hospitals.

I’m sure glad I don’t have Mrs. Sobolik representing me. What a dope. I thought our young feminists were all about defending women. I guess Mr. Clinton’s personal war against women isn’t bad. A womanizer with multiple charges of abuse against him but Mrs. Sobolik thinks the world revolves around the man. If he a R behind his name she would want him cut.

Dont you ever feel foolish making claims that you have absolutely no way of knowing for sure that its true?
How do you know Obama wont flub this disaster up?
How do you know what Romney would or wouldnt do?
Statements like that are the ones that make people just lump you into the pile of koolaid drinkers that have no opinion of their own, just repeat DNC talking points.

Romney was asked if he would let states take on the responsibilities of FEMA, which was “about to run out of money.” “Absolutely,” Romney replied. “And every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that’s the right direction. And if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that’s even better.
Note – No where does he say to leave the people high and dry, all he is proposing is that we remove FEDERAL beauracracy from the equation and out the power back to where it belongs. The individual States and the People.
People try to spin it in any direction they can to make it sound like he would just rather you die but the simple fact is he just wants the power that has been hijacked over the years by the Federal Government to be put back into the hands of the people it belongs to. The States.
Its called smaller Government. Its actually a good thing.
Just imagine if NY could just cut a ton of paperwork trying to get funds and assistance from the Feds and could just tap a FEMA type program run by the state for the state.
We’ve had so many years of the Fed taking rights away from the states its hard to digest when a man stands up and tries to give it back.
