I’ll believe “drastic, automatic across-the-board cuts to almost all federal programs” when I see them.
Drastic cuts are decades-overdue. They’ll never happen because the one thing Government is good at…is growing larger and more abusive; and with an appetite for taxes that will NEVER shrink.

One of the rare times I agree with Schurkey. I am not sure drastic across the board cuts would be a bad thing.
If our politicians cannot do their jobs (come up with a workable budget) some mechanism must exist that will do it for them.
Also, if everyone is crying foul, then the cuts are probably “fair.” Everyone hurting is much better than just targeted segments of the economy hurting.
Americans must learn to live without their government providing everything. It is as simple as that.
