I remember being in that house, as a kid, a few times. I grew up in the neighborhood, and that house was always one of my favorites. Beautiful house. Sad that the carriage house is gone.
Re; the other house mentioned in the article – the house I know as “animal house” – I really hope it’s preserved, and restored, by someone – it would be a shame to just lose that piece of history. There was a time when it really was a beautiful house, too.

Preservation is so expensive! There are very few grants available and those go to nonprofits, etc. MN does have a tax credit for repairing old homes, but unless this is a dream for someone, it is so very hard and so very expensive to do. Personally I would love to see every old home preserved … they have so much more character and craftsmanship then our newer homes.
