Letter: Bible has clear insight on death penalty

Pretty sure 1 of those pesky 10 commandments takes precedent over a Genesis passage. Even if it doesn’t, wasn’t it JC that said the golden rule (Galatians 5:14)?; which takes even more precedent over anything in the Old Testament.
Either way, life of a man shouldn’t be taken by another man/government because human life is sacred. This is a fundemental view of human life by all Christians.
