It is kind of sad that this sort of thing matters in Minnesota. Dialect, as a way of identifying who you are. It is a form of prejudice as it does help establish the all important first impression. Non native Minnesotans, wait, there is no such thing. There are native Minnesotans who were born here, and the rest of us who just call your state home temporarily and are not good enough to be real Minnesotans , we know that because we can’t say certain words the way you do we are lesser forms of human. This story is a reminder of what Minnesotans believe are important. If you don’t sound like us, well, not so much. What would Wellstone say?
