Setting the tone: Blue Jays look to seniors to ‘set the tone’ for program’s future

For Tyler Hennings, it’s about respect.
That was the goal he and the other three senior captains set for the Jamestown High School football team during the preseason, and it’ll likely continue until the foursome walks off the field together for the last time.
A winless season a year ago put in motion a senior class bent on improvement on the field as well as in the weight room. Add to that motivational first-year head coach Tim Fletcher, and the Blue Jays certainly appear to have the recipe for success.

I find it unbelievable that a team can make the playoffs with a 3-6 record. The playoffs need to be restructured if a team that wins 33% of its games advances.

What impressive young men! They could have hung their heads given the situation and have chosen not to see the bigger picture – improving Blue Jay Football. They are leading by example and word, something our civic leaders should take note of. Best of luck tonight guys – Go Blue Jays!

No need to worry about the Jays making the playoffs with 3 wins. Minot took it to em tonight 19-0.

PS Jamestown Resident – the playoff spots are just all about the math. If the top 3 teams from WDA and EDC go to state tourney, the some team has to be in the top 3! Spots 1 and 2 are locked in, but the third spot is up for grabs – none of the teams left in the WDA have locked up third. Go get it Jays!!
