You don’t know what you have until it’s gone. Anyone else remember the hype and testimony put out by the state and businesses just a decade ago about how hunting was vital to small farming communities? Now, with CRP disappearing, the commodities boom and the oil boom, nary a word about hunting or conservation. It always comes down to money. Finally, from the political side, what do conservatives conserve anyways?

I strongly believe in conservation. We need to protect the land from erosion (water, wind, etc.).
Right now, our Federal Government, which funds many of these programs (CRP, etc.) is broke. There is no money for these programs.
Do what several people have done that I know. They bought land and planted it into trees. Let the wildlife inhabit it.
The government is broke and cannot do it any longer. Its up to the citizens of this country to purchase land and put in conservation acres.
