Actually, one of the judge’s findings (not “arguments” as referenced by Mr. Knudson) was the disparate treatment of nonrepresented public employees, who are free to petition their employers for whatever pay increase they want (with no referendum required) and are free to petition their employers regarding safety and other work rules. In other words, if you’re in one of the non-”public safety” unions who pay dues, you’re forbidden to bargain for safety, work rules and wages over CPI, but if you’re not in a union, you can. True, Judge Colas agreed with the U.S. District Court that the state also violated our Constitutional rights to assembly, etc. regarding the disparate treatment of “public safety” unions (i.e., those who backed Walker) and other “general employee” unions, but stripping those same bargaining rights from those “public safety” unions doesn’t resolve the Unconstitutional finding I referenced above.

Apparently, Mr. Knudson believes we shouldn’t allow police and firefighters and the “public safety” employee unions to even bargain over SAFETY. That’s just plain crazy.

He lost my vote when he stood in Lakefront Park with the tea party and the big brown bus with the misspelled words on it, and the loud ladies from the south.
