Leave those people who have made their choices alone! I view my marriage as the most important decision in my life, and I would not want anyone putting restrictions or stripping my rights as a married man. I have changed my views on gay couples over the past 2 decades, and I would not want to deprive anyone their right to be with the person they love, or vote to take their rights away. Our Constitution should not be subjected to the personal opinions of those who feel they should take away a persons choice. Religion should also not be used as leverage to change laws, or influence our lawmakers to deprive married gay people the rights they should be afforded under our Constitution.

Just to be clear Carl the church has no legal right to marry anyone. Marriage is a legal issue and the Pastor when marrying a couple is acting as a representative of the State of Minnesota. This is a good thing too, because this means that any Pastor has the right to choose who they would provide this service for, which means that they can deny marrying a couple that the person doesn’t believe should be married, including heterosexual couples.

Does that mean if you get divorced you can not remarry? One man and one woman as you said. By remarrying that makes either 2 men or 2 women. By the way whatever happened to the Right’s sanctity of marriage argument go? Too many of them divorced once or twice already themselves?

I’m pretty sure this is suppose to be a CIVIL conversation to be held in a church … a few of you might not want to attend … I’m sure the Christians in the room might be taken aback by some of the language offered … or the thought that we aren’t all God’s children .. and that he loves us all, and if we believe we are ALL going to heaven … not just some ‘chosen ones’ but all true believers … however, with that said … remember to thank any and all Atheists who can MARRY … I’m pretty sure they did it in a church … NOT

You know. if the marriage amendment supporters were truly serious…….. Divorce would be outlawed, women who give birth without benefit of marriage would be forced to be sterilized and their children would be placed up for adoption and the men who got them pregnant would have forced vasectomies. I mean, doesn’t out of wedlock births and divorce undermine marriage and the traditional family just as much as gay people getting married? And the penalties for those behaviors would surely make others think twice. Of course, that would put our country and our government on the exact same path as China (without the forced abortions), but I imagine there would be some good person who could make a Christian argument for it.
Honestly, can’t we just leave people alone? Everyone screams about goverment getting into our wallets, but those same people are screaming that government isn’t getting into our bedrooms enough.

there is a book called “Biological Exuberance” by Bruce Bagemihl where he describes many instances and proofs of homosexual behavior in many different species of animals. I’m sure you can get it on Amazon or Barnes and Noble, if not in your public library.

I guess in response to your comment GF I see male dogs humping other male dogs … I don’t suppose I ever watched the cattle and horses and pigs on the farm enough to know what their sexual orientation is … I think people are upset with the analogy of somehow thinking your are comparing homosexuality to animals … I presume that wasn’t your intent … I have to say, being a ‘straight’ person that I have never been attracted to the same sex … okay Shania Twain but I think both guys and women were/are LOL … but I certainly am in no way in a place to judge a person on being gay … unless you are gay you don’t know, you just don’t understand. If they say they are born that way I must believe them … after all I am not gay, I would not know. You were born ‘straight’ I don’t question you on being that way either … I believe you that you were born that way. Shouldn’t we reciprocate to the gay community instead of treating them as lepers or something as such?

Yeah a choice to act on their natural feelings. Then you are saying being hetrosexual is a choice and not natural either. So then you are saying your choice is right and the other’s choice is wrong? This is not trying to decided between a Chevy and a Ford.
