No candidate or politician worth a stump speech would neglect to include “jobs” as a high priority. That includes Jesse Colangelo of Eveleth. But what sets him apart are his specific and encouraging ideas to create that employment, to expand the population and tax base and to reinvigorate a long-lagging Iron Range economy.

Colangelo: “The solution to increasing state revenue is to increase the tax base, not the tax rate. We need more people paying taxes, not the same people paying more taxes.” Such simple, unassailable logic, yet unaccepted or maybe un-grasped by so many. Well stated, Mr. Colangelo. I hope you win.
