Minnesota’s 8th District political ads long on cash, short on facts
October 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm in Duluth News Tribune
To hear the negative ads tell it, Democrat Rick Nolan wants to do away with Medicare while Republican Chip Cravaack made constituents pay for face time.

Some of these Ads are run by a PAC run by Norm Coleman. He is still bitter about getting beat by a former professional wrestler and then by a former comedy writer from Saturday Night Live. So bitter, in fact, that he’ll let even inaccurate Ads run to try to defeat Rick Nolan. Cravaack loves this and is more than happy to spread the lies. Cravaack has not authored one piece of legitimate legislation that helps people of Northern Minnesota. As far as him being a resident of this state, it is laughable. I wish he would just stay in New Hampshire and take all his mindless followers with him. He is a joke, just like Norm Coleman, the sore loser.
Hot debate. What do you think?

The smart voter pays attention to who is running the ads and where they get their money and further, takes the time to determine whether it is true, half true or just plain false. If you don’t, you lose.

Current Cravacck comment
“My opponent believes cutting $700 billion from Medicare won’t have an impact on seniors. I disagree.”
Past Cravacck comment
” You should not have counted on Social Security”
Funny thing is Cravaack is making himself look like hes protecting social security for all when hes only looking out for those that are already in the program and will not be removed while not caring about the 48-53 crowd that have invested into the system and if he and Ryan get their way will get nothing in return.
Airport meeting
Was anyone else not let into the meeting at the airport?
Many had questions and only the certain were allowed to ask.
Lets not forget when Cravacck wanted to halt the airport project because it was a “want more than a need”, until the people spoke up and he realized he looked bad and suddenly was all for the project!
Recent happenings
I would really like to ask him why he voted against the consumer protection bill, its only a win win for the people so why vote no and not protect those that pay your check?
Why does Cravack hold so many town hall meetings in the southern part near Braham and Taylors Falls and not the largest city in his district? He managed to make it right through Duluth and up to Two Harbors.

Just like Michelle Bachmann he is a waste of money in Washinton and needs to go!
Voting for Nolan in Nov is the only answer to not only insure a better future for Minnesota but the country in a whole!

Tim, you’ve made some great points about how bad Cravaack is…..but after reading your post, I’m still not quite sure why Nolan is the better candidate and I should vote for him.
Since you’ve not said one positive thing in your post about candidate Nolan…..am I left to believe there isn’t much positive to say about him…..but he’s just not quite as bad as Cravaack ?
I am so tired of the negative stuff (on both sides mind you), and would really prefer if people could talk up their favorite candiate and mention all the good things they stand for and how they would accomplish some of them in DC etc…. The commercials have more than informed us of all the negative things….so we’re good there thank you !

The negativity on both sides seems to be more ridiculous than usual this time around.
I understand pointing out your opponent’s weaknesses, but when I hear some of these ads, it just makes me think that if they were actually qualified for the job they’re running for, they wouldn’t be wasting their time trying to make their opponent look like an idiot, they’d be focusing on all of their strengths and accomplishments.
