It’s that time of year when fans of Virgil Flowers’ brand of crime solving get a fix. For years, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist John Camp, writing under the pen name of John Sandford, has released a Virgil Flowers novel in the fall and a novel from his “Prey” series in the spring. True to form, the New York Times best-selling author’s sixth book in the Flowers series, “Mad River,” comes out in hardcover today.

John Camp is an awesome writer. I have read every “Prey” novels, in order, since they came out. I have re-read several of them, again, in order. One of the best things about his novels is that they are geographically correct and center around Lucas Davenport, Minneapolis detective. Even Virgil Flowers was created out of a Prey novel. Cant wait for the new Prey novel!!!
