With the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. projecting 2,000 construction employees to begin working in 2014 on the proposed $1.2 billion nitrogen fertilizer plant in Spiritwood, N.D., the question for Stutsman County will soon become how to house the influx of temporary residents.

Two thousand temporary workers that have no stake in the quality of life in Jamestown can’t possibly be a good thing. The next few years are going to be interesting. I don’t think the results are going to be positive for those of us committed to living in Jamestown and raising a family. I see way more negatives than positives arising out of this.
