Walker labor law overturned in county court; impact unclear

A Dane County Circuit Court judge may have overturned several of the provisions in Wisconsin’s Act 10/31 that prohibits most collective bargaining rights of public employees, but the long-term impact of the decision is unclear to those on all sides of the issue.

It will be interesting to see what the priorities of the school board and the teachers are – will they go for the new school, or for higher teacher’s salaries? I doubt the voting public will support both.

The school board members should be walking around town with their tails between their legs but instead are spewing angry words toward the council who did their job, which by the way is to protect the city’s interests. Sometimes those interests are at odds with the wishes of the school district.
Hint: The best time to find out if the plan commission and city council were interested in rezoning was BEFORE a referendum was put on the ballot and the best way to find out was to ASK. Neither were done and now the school wants to paint city council and plan commission members as the bad guys. Classy.
