” the agency should do much more to promote energy conservation.”
Is “promote” a code-word for “enforce” or “mandate”?
Is this ANOTHER attack on our freedom and our right to choose goods and services that suit our preferences?
First Guess: More “Big Brother” insanity from a member of the Two Parties.

Second Guess: An excuse for the PSC to use tax money to GUARANTEE profits to Big Businesses; what you don’t pay to the energy provider on your electric bill or your heating bill, you’ll pay on your tax return.
As if we needed ADDITIONAL examples of Private Profit, Public Losses

I am all in favor of promoting energy efficiency but not government mandates to do so. As a fiscal conservative, I like to conserve energy and therefore save money the same as the big companies are doing. All the malls, Walmarts and all the rest of the big stores are reducing energy consumption and it matters not whether our energy costs are lower than elsewhere, it just makes sense to save money. Did most of the work myself in upgrading our home over the years, replaced the old furnace and have cut heating and cooling bills by 40%. Promoting efficiency makes sense.
